Quit Smoking with E-Cigs
Thousands of Smokers Quitting Tobacco and Turning To Electronic Cigarettes
More and more smokers are quitting tobacco and turning to electronic cigarettes or e-cigarettes for their nicotine fix. One popular reason for this shift in preference is the common belief that electronic cigarette poses less risk to individuals – the smokers and the non-smoking people around them. It is for this reason why electronic cigarettes are not prohibited in public places. The use of electronic cigarettes does not involve burning of tobacco; and the smoke that comes out of the device is actually just vaporized liquid. Hence, there are no toxins being emitted.
Despite its growing popularity, the e-cigarette was not well appreciated when it was first introduced to the market several years ago. To begin with, its taste was incomparable to genuine tobacco. And so the smoking experience was actually very different. But then the manufacturers have since improved the flavors, and so now e-cigarettes can even be enjoyed in fruity flavors.
Two things could happen in the future, maybe sooner, maybe later: Tobacco sales could drop as the former patrons switch to e-cigarettes, or the latter could just be forgotten in the market. The way it looks in the present, however, it seems the e-cigarette is gaining ground.
There are various reports about e-cigarettes being banned in some countries due to lack of extensive research on its risks to “smokers,” and there is no way to determine its long term effects. However, a lot of people believe that since it does not contain real tobacco, then it could not possibly be more harmful than actual cigarettes. Further, there have been numerous accounts of people relying on electronic cigarettes to help them quit smoking for good. There is no definitive study to compare the e-cigarette with the nicotine patch but those who are trying to quit with the help of electronic cigarettes count on their own personal experience.
